Pop Warner Football Promotes Academic Achievement

A senior account executive with Stevenson Systems, Inc., Adam Boskovich joined the California-based commercial real estate consulting firm in 2018. Outside of his professional pursuits, Adam Boskovich serves as a coach and board member with South Coast Youth Football (SCYF) in Southern California.

As a member of the Pop Warner youth football program, SCYF participates in Pop Warner Little Scholars, which promotes both academic and athletic accomplishments. In order to participate in SCYF and the Little Scholars program, youth athletes in the Orange Empire Conference of Southern California must maintain a minimum 2.0 or a 70 percent grade point average. This requirement must be met by all players of every team seeking to participate in regional and national Pop Warner championships and bowl games.

To inspire players to strive for academic excellence, Pop Warner also oversees its All-American Scholars Program. Only the most academically accomplished youth athletes qualify for All-American status, which is limited to applicants who maintain a minimum of 96 percent for all their coursework.

Each year, the select group of All-American Scholars is invited to a special celebration event. In 2017-18, 6,000 Pop Warner participants earned All-American Scholar status and were invited to the Pop Warner All-American Scholar Weekend at Walt Disney World.
